Announcement of Invitation for ICOM ASPAC Board Election 2025-2028 Conference

Dear ICOM ASPAC National Committees,
It is a pleasure to inform you of the procedure for the nominations and election procedure for the new Executive Board of ASPAC.
ASPAC Executive Board Elections (2025-2028) for the positions of:
Chair (1)
Vice Chair (1)
Secretary (1)
Treasurer (1)
Ordinary members (At least 1)
In accordance with Article 8.4 of the ICOM Internal Rules, “There shall be a Board of the Regional Alliance consisting of a Chair and at least four (4) other persons, nominated and elected by the National Committee Boards of the regional participants”.
Eligibility of Candidates:
Any ICOM member in the ASPAC region in good standing can be a candidate for the election to the ASPAC board.
If elected, they shall be permitted to serve a second term in the same position.
Board members may not be nominated for the same position after 2 terms.
The Chair of ASPAC may not at the same time serves as a member of the Executive Board of ICOM or a Chair of a National Committee or an International Committee, or Affiliated Organization.
No person shall be permitted to serve more than 4 consecutive terms as a Board member (12 years)
Forms:
The candidacy forms submitted to ASPAC must use the official forms provided by ASPAC.
- A Candidate Statement Form.
- A Nomination Form from a National Committee: The Form must be signed by the NC Chair and a Board member. If the Chair is a nominee, two Board members of the NC must sign the letter of support.

Closing date for candidacies: 8th September 2025 24:00 PM China Standard Time.
Voting
Online Electronic Voting will open from (November 6-13) up to one week, and closing during ASPAC meeting in Dubai. Results will be announced during ASPAC GA meeting.

Timetable
The Timeline for the ASPAC election 2025 process as followed.
Dates | Process |
August 7 | Call for nominations opens |
September 8 | Call for nominations closes |
(Further call if no candidate for specific roles on the Board) | |
September 12 | Nominations given to Secretariat |
October 10 | Validation of the nominees |
October 20 | Announcement of candidates and voting procedure along with the ASPAC GA agenda |
November 6-13 | Voting electronic – open for up to one week, and closing during meeting
According to the current rules, if we do not have enough candidates, we need to call from the floor. In which case, we need to use paper ballots. |
November 13 | Results announced during ASPAC meeting |
All the signatory persons’ information must correspond with the ICOM IRIS data.
